The Democracy and Workers’ Rights starts the implementation of children’s summer camps in Gaza.

Gaza, 27/07/2021 - Under the slogan “Smile of Hope” and with the aim to decrease psychological pressure faced by children in the Gaza Strip, the Democracy and Workers’ Rights Center in Gaza has started implementing summer camps targeting children between the ages (7 years to 13 years), through the project “Provision of Psychological Support for Vulnerable Children and Special Items for People with Disabilities”, an initiative undertaken in partnership with ACS - Associazione di Cooperazione e Solidarietà and with the support of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. Through the project, DWRC is also providing special tools for children with disabilities.

These camps are targeting 1000 girls and boys, and seek to integrate children with disabilities. Through the coming period, 40 summer camps will be implemented in cooperation with 20 CSOs all around the Gaza Strip. These camps will include several activities (e.g.: games & sports, psychological support, theatre, education, art & music, circus, and trips).
