The Democracy and Workers’ Rights Center implements a training day on addressing violence and harassment in the world of work.

On 29/07/2021, the Democracy and Workers’ Rights Center implemented a training day about violence and harassment at work, including gender based violence and sexual harassment. The training day was attended by 19 female union representatives and women’s rights activists. This training aimed to provide knowledge and tools to participants enabling to promote the principle that “the workplace should be safe for everyone".

During the training, participants discussed what should be done in regards to Palestine’s lack of regulations and policies in relation to violence and harassment, in light of the adoption of ILO Convention No. 190 and Recommendation No. 206. Participants also discussed practical steps in order to enforce the law related to women workers in particular, and all workers generally.

DWRC also implemented an awareness workshop on the same topic on 31/07/2021, with the participation of 18 newly elected representatives of the Palestinian Postal Service Workers’ Union.
